Literary scholar and digital humanist Ted Underwood speaks about the theory and practice of text mining, specifically what it means to do it, the relations between humanistic text analysis and tools developed in other disciplines, and some of the limits and possibilities of the methodology. Using corpora of thousands of books, Underwood has explored the meaning of literary genre across the long nineteenth century.
